Our amazing team is made up of incredibly hard working volunteers who dedicate their free time to helping dogs in need. Think you would be a good fit and want to help a good cause? Many of our volunteer opportunities are remote allowing you to contribute from anywhere in Canada. Get in touch with us to volunteer.
Halfway Home K9 Rescue was founded in 2020. We are a 100% foster based rescue located in Ontario, Canada currently serving the Greater Golden Horseshoe area. HHK9 has helped dogs both domestically and internationally. To date, we have rescued and rehomed 575+ dogs.
Our focus is to help northern communities along the James Bay Coast and other remote locations to reduce the dog-overpopulation by assisting communities with rescuing their unwanted, injured or stray dogs. We believe every dog deserves the chance to have a shelter over their head, a family who loves them, and a place to call "home."
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
Sadly across Canada, we have a massive dog over-population crisis. We want to support remote communities with much needed veterinary care, which is non-existent in these fly-in only communities. Did you know a single unaltered female dog and her offspring can produce over 67,000 puppies in just 6 years? It takes roughly $20,000 to fund a spay and neuter clinic in a remote community.
With your help, we can assist in better lives for both humans and animals in a Northern community where stray dogs and over-population is a huge issue.
